Jack Brabham accelerates his Cooper-Climax T51 away from Mirabeau down to the Station Hairpin followed by the Ferrari of Tony Brooks, who was to eventually finish second, and Trintignant in Rob Walker's Cooper. It was after Stirling Moss was eliminated that Brabham assumed the lead with the work's car to score an historic victory, his first in a World Championship race. Brabham and Cooper Cars both went on to win their respective Championships that year.
