The Martini entered Porsche 917L of Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens qualified fastest at Le Mans 1970 and ran strongly until just before 10.00 am when a broken inlet valve finally put them out of the race. The sister Martini 917 Hippie car would go on to finish second.
