In 2001 Bentley returned to Le Mans after an absence of over 70 years. Driving the EXP Speed 8 Butch Leitzinger, Eric van der Poele and Andy Wallace finished third overall, winning the LMP 900 Class. It would be another 2 years before Bentley would triumph at the Sarthe.
